DUI SCHOOL'S IN HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY (TAMPA, FLORIDA)

In most cases, a person charged with DUI in Tampa, Florida will be required to attend DUI school at some point during the process.  The primary purpose of DUI school is to educate a person about some of the legal ramifications of DUI as well as prevent repeat offenders from driving drunk.

In Hillsborough County, a person can complete DUI School with DUI Counterattack.  DUI Counterattack was incorporated in 1971 and has three convenient locations to attend the class.  It is important to note that although you can register for the class online, you must complete the class in person.

LOCATIONS:

Tampa
4711 North Hubert Ave., Tampa, FL 33614
813-875-6201

Plant City
classes are currently being held at the Holiday Inn Express
2102 N. Park Road, Plant City, FL 33563

Brandon
1063 E. Brandon Blvd., Brandon, FL 33511
813-571-4040

GENERAL INFORMATION
First time offenders can typically complete Level I DUI School over the course of a weekend.  Repeat offenders must complete Level II DUI School, which can take several weeks to complete because of the extensive classes.  The School is a lecture-orientated class during which participants listen to an instructor, review handouts and discuss the effects alcohol has on the body.   In some cases and more likely in repeat offender cases, depending on the person, counseling sessions may be required.  Failure to attend any counseling sessions will result in disqualification from the program.

Once completed, the person will be issued a Certificate of Completion which he or she will be required to show the Hearing Officer at the DMV when he or she applies for the hardship license.  The Certificate of Completion will also be required for probation when the case is resolved.
