Community Service Hours
If you are charged with a DUI, there is a strong possibility you will be sentenced to perform community service hours. In Hillsborough County, even if we are able to get your DUI charge reduced to a reckless driving community service hours will likely be part of the sentence. Generally on a first time DUI conviction in Hillsborough County you will be required to perform 50 community service hours.
There is an option to buy out some or all of your community service hours depending on the facts of your case. Community service hours can be bought out at the statutory rate of $10.00 per hour.
If community service hours are part of your sentence once your case is resolved you will be given a date to meet with your probation officer. The Probation Office will provide you with a list of non-profit places where you can perform your community service hours. Make sure you do these hours in a timely fashion or it could result in a violation of your probation and result in a warrant for your arrest.
The Salvation Army Provides supervision of all misdemeanor offenses sentenced by the Hillsborough Coutny Court. Additionally, they supervise all pretrial intervention clients assigned by the State Attorney's Office.
